Barauda is the representative of the female Garifuna force, a historical character who pushed the Garifuna hero Sathuye to continue in the struggle for the liberation of his people.

Strongly recommend reading the book "The Black Carib War" by Christopher Taylor where the participation of Sathuye (or Chatuye as it appears in the book) in the liberation of the community from him is explained, which would later be the beginning of the Garífunas.
